Top 10 Posts from 2010 Q2

Elphaba and Glinda

In case you missed any of these posts the first time around, here are the most popular posts from Voice of Vovici from the 85 posts we published in the second quarter:

  1. iPad Returns: Why 50 Buyers Returned their iPads
  2. Social Media Research: From Buzz to Biz
  3. On a Scale of 0 to 10, Numeric Ratings are a 6 Pack of Suckitude
  4. Market Researchers Are From Mars, NPS Advocates Are From Venus
  5. Consumer Attitudes towards Social Media Market Research
  6. Social Media Monitoring Tools by Department
  7. Zen & the Art of Questionnaire Design
  8. Projective Techniques in Online Qualitative Research
  9. Market Research Statistics: Common Pitfalls & Mistakes
  10. Analyzing Customer Satisfaction Surveys

Each time I do this I tinker with the model to counteract the positive correlation between age of a post and overall traffic. This time around, I subtracted the average first-day hits from each post's overall traffic and then ranked posts by average traffic per day. If I hadn't made this correction, 9 of the top 10 posts would be from April; in the modeled results shown above, four are from April, four are from June and two are from May.

Disappointingly, there was no correlation between how often an article was retweeted on Twitter (as tallied by TweetMeme) and its overall traffic. I suspect the correlation would be between first-day traffic and retweets. As always, thanks for reading!
