Research Roundup: Interviews & Twitter Insights

Twitter #MRX CommunityHere are five of the most popular of the 755 unique links shared on the #MRX Twitter community this week:

  • Didier Truchot on reinventing research – Robert Bain, deputy editor of Research magazine, interviews Ipsos CEO Didier Truchot about “why the research industry needs to redefine its position in a changing world”.
  • Research power-up? - Kyle Findlay and Kirsty Alberts of TNS interviews Tom Ewing of Kantar Operations about the pros of cons of introducing gameplay mechanics to survey research.
  • Why I Love Twitter (Or Twitter for #MRX 101) – Victoria Gamble shares tips from her own personal journey with Twitter, including her long absence from it.
  • Twitter promises brands new insight into followers – Twitter has promised paying customers (marketers who buy verified accounts and promoted tweets) a dashboard of the activity of their Twitter followers, including retweets, unfollows and clickthrough data by Twitter users’ sex and location.
  • Consultant ForwaR&D Lab – The research firm Insites Consulting is recruiting a consultant in Ghent, London or Rotterdam.

In the social media marketing research class I taught this week, all 24 students used LinkedIn and Facebook and all but one had logged in the past 30 days – only half had used Twitter, and only 5 people had logged into Twitter in the last 30 days. It’s definitely the hardest of the social networks to understand. Take a look at how researchers are using it by checking out the #MRX community.
